It also has a museum, a library, a residential hall, a three-story Pirivena, education halls and an alms hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Entrance to the temple will cost about 400 SLR per person<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gangaramaya Temple is not only a place of Buddhist worship, but also a center of teaching. Its construction was partly financed by the EXIM Bank of the People's Republic of China. The Lotus Tower <strong>not only serves as an advanced telecommunications center, but also host several cultural and recreational facilities, such as exhibition halls, a museum, and a shopping and dining area.<\/strong> Its observation deck offers spectacular panoramic views of Colombo and its surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The entrance fee is about 20 USD<\/strong>. If you go to the top you will have a panoramic view of all Colombo. Another thing to keep in mind is that at night it is illuminated and looks amazing from anywhere in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-0ba470d2\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Galle_Road\"><\/span>Galle Road<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator uagb-block-eea3a818\"><div class=\"uagb-separator-spacing-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator__inner\" style=\"--my-background-image:\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This road, which runs along the west coast of Sri Lanka, is famous for its mix of modernity and tradition, reflecting the cultural diversity of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During Sri Lanka's Independence Day, celebrated on February 4, Galle Road takes on a central role in the festivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> This day is marked by a grand military parade in Colombo, where important political speeches and ceremonies can be observed, followed by a series of cultural programs and events highlighting the best of Sri Lankan music, dance, food and history. This coastal park, once a battlefield and now a popular gathering place, is transformed into a vibrant celebratory space during Independence Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-4392f061\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Donde_Ir_despues_de_Colombo\"><\/span>Where to go after Colombo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator uagb-block-41e64551\"><div class=\"uagb-separator-spacing-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator__inner\" style=\"--my-background-image:\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are many options, the main ones and the ones I recommend are the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The first option is to go north starting from <a href=\"https:\/\/miradasnomadas.com\/en\/sigiriya-sri-lanka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Kandy<\/strong><\/a> and see all the temples and surroundings and then go to see the entire area of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/miradasnomadas.com\/en\/sigiriya-sri-lanka\/\">Sigiriya<\/a><\/strong> further north and go down to Ella, the city in the mountains. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The second option would be to go directly to the southern beaches starting with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/miradasnomadas.com\/en\/unawatuna-sri-lanka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Unawatuna<\/a><\/strong> and following <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/miradasnomadas.com\/en\/ahangama-sri-lanka\/\">Ahangama<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/miradasnomadas.com\/en\/midigama-sri-lanka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Midigama<\/a><\/strong>, Mirissa, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/miradasnomadas.com\/en\/what-to-see-in-weligam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Weligama<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/miradasnomadas.com\/en\/hiriketiya-beach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hiriketiya<\/a><\/strong>. To then do <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/miradasnomadas.com\/en\/yala-national-park-visit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the best Safari of Sri Lanka in Yala<\/a><\/strong>, where you can see the elusive leopard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are interested in a complete itinerary of the main things to see on the island, save the itinerary that I have prepared to see Sri Lanka based on your availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator uagb-block-b4b39a37\"><div class=\"uagb-separator-spacing-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator__inner\" style=\"--my-background-image:\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-3accfc32\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mi_Experiencia_visitando_Colombo\"><\/span>My experience visiting Colombo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator uagb-block-f07e13ef\"><div class=\"uagb-separator-spacing-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator__inner\" style=\"--my-background-image:\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On my visit to Colombo, I decided to stay for two days, and honestly, I found it more than enough to soak in all what the city has to offer.<strong> Colombo is definitely a place worth visiting, but I think a couple of days is enough to capture its essence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Traffic, especially in the tuk tuks, is somewhat chaotic, but far from being a problem, this adds a touch of authenticity and curiosity to my experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, what does <strong>negatively impacted me<\/strong> was<strong> pollution.<\/strong> The combination of humidity and dense air made the lack of a cleaner and purer environment palpable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In spite of that,<strong> exploring the streets and discovering the temples of Colombo was an amazing experience.
