If you are planning to visit and find accommodation in Peniche, you should know that this region offers a great variety of places to sleep ranging from hostels and surfcamps to bed & breakfasts and eco-villas. Here are some of the best options I found when I did my research to visit Peniche, Baleal and Ferrel.

Baleal and Ferrel are villages smaller and quieter, a few minutes from Penicheideal if you are looking for a more relaxed experience and slightly more economical pricingespecially in Ferrel, where I stayed for a week and a half. All the accommodations you see in this list were part of the research I did before visiting Peniche. If the idea of your visit is see the old part of town and surfing is secondary, this area and accommodations are for you. Although it is also a very good option if you plan to surf in super tubes or do not mind taking the car to surf in other beaches.

This B&B with vintage décor, stands out for its cozy atmosphere and services such as personalized breakfast and courtesy bicycles included. Its rooms are comfortable and the staff very attentive. It is located very close to Forte da Luz, north of Peniche.

An ideal place if you are a backpacker or surfer looking for an economical option, this hostel has shared dormitories and common areas with a surfing and relaxed atmosphere. Ideal for socializing and meeting other travelers.

Baleal is the best place you can find to stay in Peniche if you are looking to surf every day. This location is perfect for its proximity, the beach and the atmosphere that is created during the day. In addition, the sunsets on the island of Baleal are from another planet. Most of the accommodations in Baleal are located on the road that connects the island with the village of Ferrel.

Located near the beaches, it is a meeting point with options for classes and equipment rental. It is perfect if you are looking for atmosphere and learning in one place.

This surf camp offers a lively atmosphere and surf lessons, it is an excellent option to socialize and make friends.

With a large terrace and social atmosphere, this accommodation in Peniche is ideal for meeting people. Its common areas invite you to socialize and enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of Baleal. Next to the surfcamp they have a store where you can rent your equipment, in addition, it is located 5 minutes walk from the beach. This was the place I chose to rent my equipment.

Located near the beach, this guesthouse has a homey and quiet atmosphere. Like Peniche Surfcamp Hostel is located about 5 minutes walk from the beach, making it an excellent accommodation in Peniche.

Ferrel is an option perfect if you are looking for a relaxed and affordable environment near the beaches of Baleal.. This was the location I chose, and without a doubt I can tell you that it was a success.

This is the most popular accommodation in Peniche, offering both private and shared rooms in a modern and international environment. It has a bar, pool, coworking and all kinds of services you can imagine. This place is perfect for digital nomads and was my first choice just before I opted for Ahoy Surf House.

Where I stayed during my stay, Ahoy Surf House is a perfect place for surfers looking for tranquility and a very familiar atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and the atmosphere is relaxed, ideal to unwind after a day of surfing. The owner, Riki will give you all kinds of advice and answer your questions, there is a kitchen, pool and several common areas. In addition, Riki also offers longboard lessons.

An accommodation in Peniche that combines style and sustainability with glamping and cabin options. Surrounded by nature, it offers a relaxing experience with an ecological approach.

This was another of my considerations when I assessed where to stay in Peniche. It is a party hostel but in the good sense of the word, here there is always very good atmosphere and you will meet many people with the same interests as you, socialize and surf a lot.

The best option to move between the beaches and transport with boards and equipment is rent a carespecially useful for trips to supermarkets or excursions to nearby towns like Nazaré. In my case, I opted for the car the second week and it was the best decision, facilitating transportation between beaches, so I could carry food without complications. I always use DiscoverCars to book cars because it is the best comparator, and I usually book them on arrival at the airport, but you can always search the area yourself.

If you prefer the hustle and bustle and the proximity to services and restaurants, Peniche is the best option. On the other hand, if you are looking for a quieter and more economical environment, you will enjoy very much Baleal and Ferrel. Personally, my stay at Ahoy Surf House in Ferrel was an experience of ten, as it combined proximity to the beach and a relaxed atmosphere ideal for unwinding after a day of surfing.

If I personally had to choose 5, these are the accommodations I would choose based on my preferences, which are proximity to surf spots, places to socialize and having a restaurant or supermarket nearby.

First, I would put Selina Peniche, it is an amazing accommodation for digital nomads, and modern facilities with all kinds of services make the difference. After Selina I would put Ahoy surfhouse, during my stay I literally felt like it was my home, it has everything, although if you are looking for socializing maybe I would choose another option like Selina. In third place, I would put Surf House Peniche, as it also has modern facilities and very good prices.
